Journal swap.

It has been a while, since I did some Blogging! Been bussy painting, and the proposed byer, is not to see them in here, beforehand, so that is all a secret yet :) These journal pages, on the other hand are not. I now have my hands on Mary´s journal, in our European Swap, and her theme are wings. So, birds, butterflies....."One bird in the hand, is better than ten in the hair!"
Butterfly in Danish is Sommerfugl, translated it would be: SummerBird! I shal leave them for a while, come back, and see if they need worked on......

European Circle Journal - WOMAN

In The European Circle swap, I have now completed one more challange, Lyn´s Beautiful ans so thought thrue book WOMAN. I choose the coffee bowl as my pocket for my sign-in tag.

I could have picked any number of well known, famous or not, woman in history, past and present. I choose MOTHER EARTH. And I enjoyed the process. My favourite blues and greens, and loads of layers of symbols and glue :)
And the lyrics from a Niel Dimond song: Mother Earth!
I see here that this isnt the final photo...I added stamps after this...Oh well, I will post another one later :)
Lynn has added a traveling painting, where we all paint six squares each, and Lyn gets a finished painting back home in the end. Lots of fun.

15+1 Round Robin

This is a page for the 15+1 Round Robin, that I am in. I havnt had a journal for ages. Some where along the line, there are hold-ups. One is due to unforseen family crises-, so we have desided to do the persons Journal any way, do all our pages, carry on, and send them all to her when all is done. I am the person starting out. Her Theme is "Soul Painting". And my soul said: Big bird! I drew with black pen, used Neo Color, Gesso and ripped paper. And not to forget, my sewing machine:) I shall post on to Lucine in Holland, and off we go.....

TUTORIAL Layred background using Magazine cuttings.

In this tutorial, I am using cuttings from a glossy magazine, to create a layred background, for my stamping and writing. This page is part of a Field Note Journal.

STEP 1
Cover your page with White Gesso.
 STEP 2
Rip, or cut strips from a glossy magazine. Choose colors that suit your purpose, mood or other. Be Aware, that images will be covered in Gesso later.
 STEP 3
Crumble up the strips. More than once. The folds will make interesting patterens later.
 Step 4
Unfold and glue strips on to page.

 Step 5
Dot Gesso at random on to images.
 Step 6
Now use the old credit card to smooth out the Gesso dots. Go in all directions, but leave one or two small bits un touched.
 Step 7
Get your Neo Colors out (or other water soluable crayons) And colour both the white areas and the crumbled papers. Wet with brush, and repeat as many times as you like, until you are happy with the result.
This brush is filled with a mix of ink and water. You can use just ink, a black water colour.....to draw shapes around areas that will later be used for stamping or writing, So choose a smooth area for this.
More Gesso is applied and smoothed out with the credit card.
Use stamps that suits your page. Numbers, letters, images....Here it is numbers for the year and small animals and plants, as this page is part of a Field Note Book. A feather found, is taped on as well.
Finished page. Do not forget to sign your pages.

New graphite sticks.

Tina, my Sweedish friend, posted a video of a tutorial, using these Water-soluble Graphite sticks. The brand is Derwent. www.pencils.co.uk  Mary found the link, Thanks ;) I was quite excited, waiting for them to arrive from the UK, and the wait was worth it. I love them! I know that I will use these a lot, as you know, watercolours are my favourites! So these are great. 4 sticks, 2-4-6-8B.

Dream Board.

I love my dream board. I love my dreams. And what a healthy exersice it has been, and still are. Putting not just words, but images on to your private dreams and visions. My new board,(not up for show yet)  is a consentrated copy of this one. Specific and lean! I would recomment this for anybody, who want their dreams to come through, but do not posess a macic wand! Have fun :)

A lesson in simplicity!

I made one more page in Palma´s journal. A pin-board, with lines from three different poems/songs about Birds. Its been nice to just play with inks for a change. And a great lesson for my next house-jump. In three weeks I am renting a summer house by the sea, and all my supplies has to go into the storage where the rest of "my life" is stored in boxes for the time being :) Life is a journey :)
