September journal "Natures Palette". #1
I look around the garden and surrounding fields, trees and shrubs, and are amazed as to how nature works! The variaty of colour, all the tones of reds, greens and browns. Yes I know, a good mix of the primary spectrum is in these months allowed to roam free. No artificial additives for the next 6 months! Its apples, berries, pears, sugar beeds and rich dark soil. I know that I am dreaming...in three months time there are NO colours left, it will be just white! But for the next litle while, nature is having a laugh. I will try...to do one page a day, for the rest of the month, in the attempt to make my self like autumn, and to soak up all the colour, before the big white-out!

Framed beauties!
Two more for the collection :-)
I love the way paintings, big or small, looks so much better behind a pane of glass and inclosed by a nice frame!

Layered Tutorial for Christina.
A while back, my beautiful friend Christina asked me, How I did my layers..! Hmmm, I just do? Now I have decided to break the procedure down, and make a tutorial. Here goes, Just for you Christina :-)
I start with a colour thought...here its bluísh-brown-sepiar..... Neocolor II, put down roughly on the paper...Then, a Baby Wipe. Mix the colours together. LOVE the effect this gives, perfect for backgrounds.
A plastic template, and a spray colour. I just choose this for the colour, not effect or brand, Im not that into all the different sprays...yet :-) This one is a Tattered Angles Chalkboard/Hot Chocolate. Spray.....
I quickly lay the template, turned around, on a blank page, and get a negative of the print! No waste....
Ok, so far so good......
Now I look through my box of goodies! Pick out according to colour scheme and interest...I might not use all of it, and then again, sometimes I need more!
Get out the glue, I use a Gel Medium and now, stick it all down, well no, keep some back for later....
And now the tissue paper. I picked out two different browns and a pale blue. Rips og long strips is now glued down....
More...more.......
And break! Time to dry and have a coffee!
When dry, I paint Golden Gesso on top.....always gives me the shivers! But it dries up lighter.....
Now, more cut outs, the ones I left in the beginning. I LOVE newspaper for this. (Thanks Mary).
And, yes you guessed it, more tissue paper...And dry.
Now to the inking. I choose two colours, Chipped Sapphire (my favourite) and Vintage Photo from Rangers Distress Inks.
I smear it around, use my fingers to blend (You could use a tool for this, but I dont) And when I feel it is finished, I stop, and give the whole page some more Gel Medium, for shine and strength.
And here we are. Loads of layers, nice to look at, and lovely to the touch!

Jackie is one of my new friends, over at milliandes Art Group. And Jackie is new to the world of ATC´s. Actually, these are her very first ones!! And she swaped with me. I am honoured. And what a great job she did. Well done you Jackie. And I love the bull and oil pump on the envelope, as I keep thinking that Jackie lives in Canada!! Thanks again, and congratulations on your first swap. (My ATC´s are on their way)
Studio moved indoors.
Just as the removal of the wooden boards from the jetty, and the empty svallow´s nests, so are the moving of my studio, a sure sign, that autumn is here and soon vinter. My lovely studio with the amazing sea view, is too cold now, so a table is set up in the house, and the most important art materials are brought through.
As I was tidying up, I thought: I will use all these ends and odds laying on the desk- Instead of throwing it all out. -And use the four little wooden frames that I was given resently.
Here they are, todays work. They turned out dark in the photos, we have NO light today.
